Death of Christianity

It is time we confess as Christians that our foundations of American Christianity have been rooted in racism, manipulation and greed.

It is time we confess as Christians that our foundations of American Christianity has been rooted in racism, manipulation and greed. However the roots of evil have stemmed for much longer; 2000 years longer. Christianity as known by the Apostles died shortly after them with the establishment of the hierarchy of church offices. All are one body, the bishop is equal to the layman both changing roles as needed.

Permanent hierarchy leads to unchanged doctrines and dogma which do not advance with society. The power of the Church leads to greed and manipulation of the State. All this is evil. We must admit and ask for forgiveness for being apart of the actions we committed; even if done in ignorance. We must deconstruct and build based on love and the priesthood of all saints. We must repent for the countless lives lost, and untold wealth stolen away.

What is Done in the Dark Will be Seen in the Light

What is done in the dark will be seen in the light. The Church has openly conducted evil actions for all to see. However, if no one can see the actions, they remain in the dark. Now, now, is the time in which the scales are falling from the eyes. We stand naked in the garden without knowledge of our fate. We fear because we do not live by faith. Love is not found only the actions of the flesh.

We have worn the clothes of the profane for far too long, creating an institution of bondage rather than bringers of light. We celebrate the ressurection without understanding its purpose. We, as the Master spoke, have failed to see the logs in our eyes. It is time to repent for the actions done in the name of Christ.

Will You Repent With Me?

Will you repent with me? Will you say, I was wrong and love is right? Or, will you continue to deny your actions all the way to the throne of God? When that time comes you will realize heaven is meant to be on earth. Heaven is within the heart of the individual. When light comes no darkness is found. Here me now. Christianity is dead as we know it. We must correct what has been perverted and rebuild under the freedom of forgiveness.

The Kingdom the Power and the Glory Amen.

THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN

Jesus said rightly, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 19:24, NIV).

If you were to take away any talk of money from the world news the show would be cut from 30 to 10 minutes.  During our current crisis we see the greed of corporations and people stir once again. I need a bail out, you need a bail out, we all need a bail out like contestants on the Oprah show. Get rid of the concept of money as we know it?

I do not know exactly how this would work; maybe we start slowly.  Gradually rip apart the constructs of capitalism and imprison the bankers and CEO’s in which their only mission seems to bankrupt the American people while they feast at banquet.  These institutions must come down for the American people to be free.

Contributionism is a concept in which we each contribute our skills no matter what they are to receive in return the contributions of others.  During these times we have seen firsthand the importance of many who were once considered the least of these.  The store clerks, truck drivers, gas station attendants, delivery drivers and more.  Of course, those within the medical profession while not be counted among the least of these, are performing their calling with heroic efforts.  We have seen that the true least of these is our politicians, lawyers, CEO’s, etc.  These people are not needed in crisis.

All Are Rich

What if we all shared in what our creator gave us?  What if we could pass through the fiery sword back into the garden of our birth.  A place in which all is equal.  A place in which mankind sinned by eating the fruit of greed, killing Abel and giving birth to original sin, the sin of greed.

Let us free ourselves from the slave driver named greed.  Rather, coming together as a community of freedom.  A true church if you will; a place without walls held up by the love of our hearts.  The words economy is stricken from our thoughts as we enter the gates of paradise.

Jesus said rightly, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 19:24, NIV).

The Greatest Commandments

Are most people sitting in the pews every Sunday giving away their cash and singing a few songs really Christians?

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”  Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”  Matthew 22:36-40 NIV

Christians and most Americans have these words seared into their conscious.  Generally one thinks of the corner stone of Christianity as Jesus, the cross and love.  Unfortunately in between Jesus and love comes dogma and doctrine.  Often social justice minded Christians are more concerned for the love of neighbor than “church” involvement.  These Christians are critiqued by “conservative” Christians who are involved with organized church, believing it is their outer expression of love of God.  Likewise these are critiqued by the social justice minded Christians for their lack of community involvement.  Why is there a split in the first place?  I am sure there are Christians who are knees deep in carrying out both parts of the greatest commandment.  Two questions I would like to propose.  Are these commands synonymous?  If they are synonymous, are those who are partial to social justice issues the only Christians?

How Do I Love God?

Let’s look at the text.  Jesus is famous for hyperbole and parables, it would not be against the norm for him to repeat the same command in different means.

How does one love God?  It seems we have created this idea that we must attend an organized church, read the bible and listen to Christian radio.  Maybe staying away from porn, beer and pot making sure to live up to the law and moral codes set in place by their denomination.  This sounds rather an odd way to love God.  Oh, I know, it is giving 10 percent of your money to the church.  Not really, the church, but a staff of paid members of the church.  The ones responsible for the building, teaching, reading, music and other production work.  I still do not understand how this is how one loves God.

Jesus says the same thing in order to make it much clearer to the reader.  “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  Not an easy task for sure.  It is much easier to create dogma and doctrine in order to feel we have satisfied the requirements.  The majority feeling that the dogma and doctrine outweigh love of neighbor not realizing that is all Jesus meant.  All Jesus meant as the greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself.

How does that make sense?  Simple, you are god.  While not fully God, you are a piece of God. God would not be God without you.  You are god, humanity as a whole is God.  This is understood in many religions but generally rejected by the faith which worships the messenger.  It would stand to reason that the majority of professing Christians are not Christians at all.  They have created some strange doctrine and attached Jesus to the front cover.

Read the first four gospels.  Jesus is constantly preaching plainly or through parable, good works towards mankind.  Christians and non-Christians who take care of each other, fight for one another and give to one another.  Those people, these gods, who love themselves by loving others.  When others are themselves and themselves others, this knowledge is at the heart of the message of Jesus.   Jesus was radical in his approach speaking the truth leading to his death.  Are most people sitting in the pews every Sunday giving away their cash and singing a few songs really Christians?

‘By their fruit you will recognize them.”  Matthew 7:16 NIV

God Is Not the Cause of Suffering

Do you wonder why people leave God? We teach them he is this creator who brings vengeance upon his people and all suffering, illness and disasters are from his hand.

God is not the cause of suffering.  Many within the Evangelical church believe that pain and suffering are from God.  Some radicals feel that hurricanes, earthquakes and other natural disasters are God’s vengeance.  These types seem to live in a real life Dungeons and Dragons game rather than being followers of Christ.  Imagination is a good, but we must not get carried away.  If you think God causes suffering he/she is not the God I serve.  Here is the deal humanity in itself is the cause of suffering.  We start suffering before birth and continue to suffer until our death.  Suffering is human nature.  It is not of God, it is of humanity.

Countless times I have talked with those who were once Christians or grew up in a Christian home who reject Christianity due to a misunderstanding of suffering.  Often Christians will quote Sodom and Gomorrah as an example without consulting Jesus and his interpretation.  Jesus was asked whose sin caused this man to suffer; his parents or his own?  Jesus said neither.  The suffering was for the glory of God.  Life is suffering, all suffering can bring us closer to God or drive us away. That is the human condition.

Do You Wonder Why People Leave God?

Imagine yourself flying from Hawaii to Los Angeles.  Throughout the flight you are looking down on the beautiful ocean. Then you start to see land and the smog below.  Humans are destructive.  We destroy as we self-destruct.  Like mold on a piece of white bread, the mold will spread and destroy the whole piece.  We need to be honest with ourselves.  Teaching our children or a new believers that God is behind our suffering is an imaginary way of trying to make peace with our condition.  We blame it on God and teach our children to blame it on God.  Do you wonder why people leave God?  We teach them he is this creator who brings vengeance, suffering, illness and disasters on humanity.

Let’s not forget we also teach our children and new believers that if we do not get it right we are thrown into a lake of fire.  This teaching must stop.  We must rid ourselves of what we have been taught and think rationally.  No good God is going to cause suffering.  No good God will banish people to eternal torment.  Finally we must ask ourselves why a good God would make humanity to be creatures of suffering.

Taking Christ out of Politics

When we take Christ out of politics, we remove the emotion of religion which stunts rational thinking. I am not saying you should not live for Christ. On the contrary we should live as Christ did.

There is a very real need to take Christ out of politics in the United States. Evangelicals for Trump recently held a meeting in which Trump seems to be their interface to God himself.  I have always considered myself an Evangelical Christian as the very word evangelical means “good news.”  I am finding with the election of Donald Trump it is plain to see many evangelicals never knew Christ or the good news at all. Their focus seems only to be the power of having their man in the White House.

Christ was Neither a Politician Nor Interested in Politics.

Christ was neither a politician nor interested in politics.  He sarcastically stated, “Give to Caesar what is Caesars.”  Evangelicals have run with this along with Romans 13 a chapter in which the apostle Paul speaks of being submissive of earthly authority. We however have a major problem.  Paul was speaking to Roman Christians in the 1st century who needed to be very careful how they behaved to save their head.  We can’t take the Bible literally in the sense that every word is applicable to today.

We must take Christ out of politics.  As a Christian I do not want religion of any kind in American politics.  We all have different interpretations of the biblical text and each one should be respected.  Seeing Evangelicals for Trump is sick, it is not Christianity it is a cult of personality, it is a travesty created by Trump.  Unfortunately, Evangelicals have been some of the most gullible citizens.  Evangelicals are also one of the largest voting blocs in which Trump understood he could win over.

We Should Live All the More For Christ.

When we take Christ out of politics, we remove the emotion of religion which stunts rational thinking.  I am not saying you should not live for Christ.  On the contrary we should live as Christ did.  Progressives are now guilty at slinging religion back at Trump supporters. John Pavlovitz is a perfect example someone who has a good heart but is becoming as ugly as the president in his rhetoric.  Let’s be Christ through our faith and deeds.  Let us not be just as deceived as Evangelicals for Trump.  Turn the other cheek and love your neighbor. Do this and you have loved God!

Death of Christianity

There is a cloud over the eyes of Christians. This cloud blinds the eyes of humanities search for God.

The death of Christianity is upon us and only Christians are to blame.  For years the Evangelical Christian church has taught fire and brimstone, sinners and saints, numerous rules, dogma and doctrine.  Children who grow up in this environment are sick of it.  Those who are not leaving are changing denominations, while those who stay become like their agents of hate parents.  There is a cloud over the eyes of Christians. This cloud blinds the eyes of humanities search for God.

Karl Von Eckartshausen, wrote the book; The Cloud Upon The sanctuary (1909).  The text was very influential to societies who wished to make contact with the divine not through traditional means but that of the occult.  Only those within the occult would be able to appreciate the mystery which the average Evangelical would not comprehend and probably label demonic.  People want to be as free from suffering as possible.  The church encourages suffering through its endless culture wars against people different from themselves.  The endless dogma and doctrine of biblical literalists leaves the church goer in constant fear of God and hell.  Jesus talked of a light burden; Evangelicals place heavy burdens on their adherents as the Pharisees in the days of Jesus.

Blinded by a Great Cloud.

We just do not understand this life.  Some would say the purpose of life is to know God.  This process it is not an automatic ask Jesus into your heart and done.  It does not work that way.  We must question, seek and be brave.  There is a very real cloud that separates us from the divine.  The transfiguration of Christ is a great example of our modern church.  Peter, James and John represent the church as they stood in confusion. They spoke of what they do not know.  A voice through a descending cloud spoke of Jesus “listen to Him.”  Are we listening? No.

Live free of material gain and the fear of lack of.  This causes some of the greatest suffering.  However I find it unique that the Evangelical church is so wrapped up in money.  I have never been to a service that the plate is not passed or money spoken of.  Although Jesus himself talked more about money than heaven or hell his speech was not to gain, but to warn.  Jesus understood the overwhelming sufferings money has caused the world.  I believe Jesus was hoping we would listen to his words.

Do Not Fear Death.

Fear of death also has caused great suffering within the Evangelical church.  No one wants to hear that they are going to hell when we do not even know if hell exists.  Most scholars believe when Jesus spoke of hell he was speaking in hyperbole.  Yes, it gets the point across and that can be ok at times.  Don’t steal or kill or you will go to prison.  I get it.  Yet we are talking about long term mental devastation upon young people that have had enough.  To hell with your hell, maybe the only hell that many Evangelicals lived through was within their church.  Can you blame them for leaving?

If the Evangelical church has any hope it must restructure from the ground up.  Rid itself of dogmas and doctrine from a time past.  Rid it of its literalists views.  The racist, anti LGBT, anti-immigrant, pro borders and gun beliefs which are rife within Evangelical walls must be dismantled. Love is the only law.  This is the only doctrine that matters.  There is hope for the Evangelical church as the word itself means good news. To save Evangelicals from radicals Sometimes it must die before it thrives.

Is Religion Worth It?

With such atrocity and division caused by religion we must ask; is religion worth it?

Is religion worth it?  There is nothing on earth that is used more to manipulate the populace than religion.  Religion inspires people to commit the best and worst of actions.  Religion has spearheaded some of the bloodiest wars and terrorist attacks.  The labels in which we put on people in differing countries are often based on the majority religion.  It is a Christian, Muslim or Buddhist country.  Within the differing religions is even greater division especially within the Christian faith.  With such atrocity and division caused by religion we must ask; is religion worth it?

Religion Defines Our Purpose.

People throughout history have also used religions to define their purpose.  Trapped on this planet in the middle of space, early man developed religion as a panacea of sorts to explain why we are here.  If God or Gods have contacted humanity it was still mankind who developed the system of worship around the Gods.  Within Christianity, the Biblical text spells out how the religion was formed.  Jesus did not form the church.  Jesus did tell his followers to go about and spread the good news.  However, this good news of love and peace has become a heavy burden to the majority of Christianity.

Religion is not Complex Enough for Humanity.

Is religion worth it?  No, I would say it is not.  It is within human nature to seek for the divine, but to formulate religions on dogmas and doctrines in which we think we know the will of God has caused nothing but harm.  To have faith in God and a spiritual practice is not the same as an organized religion. Spirituality is following ones will.  Ones will is their purpose and we are all spiritual.  One’s path is not the same as another as each path is as unique as a fingerprint.  To develop a system focusing on the human and his or her purpose in life is leaving humans wanting as no system is great enough to handle the unique nature of man.

Do Not Give Up on Your Faith.

If you agree but still love your faith good.  I would never want someone to disown their faith, rather I would say let us build upon our spiritual nature within the framework of our faith, adding modifications when needed.  Live by love, do no harm, seek peace and care for one another.  Know that everyone is different and that is ok, that is how God made them.  Understand that variety is the spice of life and you do not know the answers.  Love, and be love, that is the only way.

Jesus Smokes Weed With Me

To think Jesus had no knowledge of cannabis would be foolish.

Every time I take a hit Jesus smokes weed with me. I am the body of Christ. When I smoke, Jesus smokes weed with me. Legal cannabis has been sweeping across the nation for the past several years.  On Jan 1st 2020 Illinois became the 11th state to legalize recreational cannabis.  Truth be told, the lies and deceit our government has placed upon the plant is backfiring as states begin to realize that the people want what is rightfully theirs.  That is the freedom to consume this gift from God.  But, what does the Christian church think about legitimizing cannabis?  Many Christians may be asking themselves would Jesus smoke weed with me.

Plant based drugs are nothing new to humanity.  We can find their use going back thousands of years.  To think Jesus had no knowledge of cannabis would be foolish.  The man who turned water to wine would be familiar with the herb.  But did he partake?  We just don’t know.  I would not think he would turn down the weed based on his teachings.  Love, peace, fun social gatherings and cool miracles; in fact it is even suggested that cannabis was used in Jewish anointing oil.

Add Cannabis to Your Spiritual Toolbox.

While some church leaders’ feel that cannabis is much more mind altering than alcohol, this is nothing further from the truth.  Cannabis is a nice tool in the spiritual toolbox.  I have smoked cannabis and had my mind open to new ideas and ways to better my life.  I have experienced love and kindness towards my fellows that I would not experience without cannabis.  Alcohol never gave me the sense of self that cannabis delivers.

Finally we must look at the very blatant elephant in the room.  If we as Christians believe that God created all things, he created cannabis.  If God is all knowing he obviously knew that the plant would give humans a positive mind altering effect along with potentially endless medicinal properties.  The time has come to have the faith to believe if Jesus was here right now he would be more than happy to smoke the weed with me.

Ignorance, Politics and Evangelicals

Fears of God’s wrath and judgment have been the name of the church game gaining them billions of dollars over the centuries.

Strange times; Ignorance, politics and Evangelicals.  Historians will look back on current state of affairs as one of the most divisive times in church history since reformation.  Times not seen since the Civil War.  At a time when church should be healing the nation the church is aggravating the problem.  Evangelicals have taken sides with an unwavering support for Trump.

It may be wise to look at the foundations for this mess.  Christian education or lack thereof within the Evangelical community is part of the problem.  Pastors are given a congregation with little to no advanced theological training often attending institutes in which denominational doctrines and dogma are indoctrinated devoid of free thought.  I am not saying that every pastor needs an M.Div.  Some level of graduate education from a non-institute is necessary.

Evangelicals have this idea that Romans 13 applies to our presidents. The idea that the Bible is inerrant has created a disaster.  Presidents are elected based on the sovereign vote of the people. Presidents are just the lingering effects monarchies.

Fear, The Name of the Church Game

Fears of God’s wrath and judgment have been the name of the church game gaining them billions of dollars over the centuries.   This does not have to be this way.  The Evangelical Deep State is usurping power taking back the good news of Christ to a nation in ignorance. Christianity Today is doing their part. We seek to bring the light of God to all people, no exceptions.  Why?  Everybody wants to be right.

What is right?  What is good or bad theology?  I do not know, I do not have a definite stance, nor will I ever because most questions are unknown.  Pastors take positions and adhere to them, forcing them on their congregation.  Could a pastor at the end of a sermon tell their people that they could be wrong?  I would; however the pastorate has eluded me.  If I do find myself leading a congregation, there will always be an asterisk stating I could be wrong.

Finally what can we do to come together?  Well if I knew exactly how to do that this message would gain more traction.  However I do believe that I am on to something.  Our country needs to come together in love and harmony.  I do not have a problem with differing beliefs in fact I welcome them.  I do have a problem when these beliefs have divided a nation in such a way not seen since the mid 1850’s.
