Balance may be the answer Jesus was trying to teach while emphasizing the destruction in which money causes.
For far too many of us our fears are centered around money. We are manipulated to make money our youth. Always being asked what we are going to be when we grow up; why? I do not like it; it is not fun trying to gain enough money only to freak out when you do not have enough. Sometimes it may be better to live as a happy wanderer; penniless, no job, no permanent shelter or car. No bills, free food, no stress from work. Wander around just, being. If they only taught us this as children.
It is commonly known that Jesus talked more about money than he did heaven or hell. It is no wonder why he did so. Even Jesus was not immune from the damage money will bring upon the human psyche. However, how shall we resolve this fucking lunacy in which we live when the Son of God could not even break free from it? Maybe Jesus tried. He was a happy wanderer. Well happy most of the time. Nonetheless he was a wanderer, couch hopper or as Metallica said, “My home is wherever I may roam.”
Balance may be the answer Jesus was trying to teach while emphasizing the destruction in which money causes humanity. Jesus knew he had to live with money but seemed happier without it. Jesus did not seek out money; money was always there when he needed it. Those who suffer from the anxiety in which money causes may be lacking in faith. This is much easier said than done as I myself am a victim of money. I want a lot of money, yet trying to get there is an unending mountain which becomes more treacherous every step. I do not want to live that way anymore; do you? I won’t throw myself down, but I will not stop moving forward. Maybe it is time that we do not worry, becoming more like the lilies of the field or the birds of the air. All is found under the umbrella of God in which we live.
Are most people sitting in the pews every Sunday giving away their cash and singing a few songs really Christians?
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40 NIV
Christians and most Americans have these words seared into their conscious. Generally one thinks of the corner stone of Christianity as Jesus, the cross and love. Unfortunately in between Jesus and love comes dogma and doctrine. Often social justice minded Christians are more concerned for the love of neighbor than “church” involvement. These Christians are critiqued by “conservative” Christians who are involved with organized church, believing it is their outer expression of love of God. Likewise these are critiqued by the social justice minded Christians for their lack of community involvement. Why is there a split in the first place? I am sure there are Christians who are knees deep in carrying out both parts of the greatest commandment. Two questions I would like to propose. Are these commands synonymous? If they are synonymous, are those who are partial to social justice issues the only Christians?
How Do I Love God?
Let’s look at the text. Jesus is famous for hyperbole and parables, it would not be against the norm for him to repeat the same command in different means.
How does one love God? It seems we have created this idea that we must attend an organized church, read the bible and listen to Christian radio. Maybe staying away from porn, beer and pot making sure to live up to the law and moral codes set in place by their denomination. This sounds rather an odd way to love God. Oh, I know, it is giving 10 percent of your money to the church. Not really, the church, but a staff of paid members of the church. The ones responsible for the building, teaching, reading, music and other production work. I still do not understand how this is how one loves God.
Jesus says the same thing in order to make it much clearer to the reader. “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Not an easy task for sure. It is much easier to create dogma and doctrine in order to feel we have satisfied the requirements. The majority feeling that the dogma and doctrine outweigh love of neighbor not realizing that is all Jesus meant. All Jesus meant as the greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself.
How does that make sense? Simple, you are god. While not fully God, you are a piece of God. God would not be God without you. You are god, humanity as a whole is God. This is understood in many religions but generally rejected by the faith which worships the messenger. It would stand to reason that the majority of professing Christians are not Christians at all. They have created some strange doctrine and attached Jesus to the front cover.
Read the first four gospels. Jesus is constantly preaching plainly or through parable, good works towards mankind. Christians and non-Christians who take care of each other, fight for one another and give to one another. Those people, these gods, who love themselves by loving others. When others are themselves and themselves others, this knowledge is at the heart of the message of Jesus. Jesus was radical in his approach speaking the truth leading to his death. Are most people sitting in the pews every Sunday giving away their cash and singing a few songs really Christians?
‘By their fruit you will recognize them.” Matthew 7:16 NIV
Christ was Neither a Politician Nor Interested in Politics.
Christ was neither a politician nor interested in politics. He sarcastically stated, “Give to Caesar what is Caesars.” Evangelicals have run with this along with Romans 13 a chapter in which the apostle Paul speaks of being submissive of earthly authority. We however have a major problem. Paul was speaking to Roman Christians in the 1st century who needed to be very careful how they behaved to save their head. We can’t take the Bible literally in the sense that every word is applicable to today.
We must take Christ out of politics. As a Christian I do not want religion of any kind in American politics. We all have different interpretations of the biblical text and each one should be respected. Seeing Evangelicals for Trump is sick, it is not Christianity it is a cult of personality, it is a travesty created by Trump. Unfortunately, Evangelicals have been some of the most gullible citizens. Evangelicals are also one of the largest voting blocs in which Trump understood he could win over.
We Should Live All the More For Christ.
When we take Christ out of politics, we remove the emotion of religion which stunts rational thinking. I am not saying you should not live for Christ. On the contrary we should live as Christ did. Progressives are now guilty at slinging religion back at Trump supporters.John Pavlovitz is a perfect example someone who has a good heart but is becoming as ugly as the president in his rhetoric. Let’s be Christ through our faith and deeds. Let us not be just as deceived as Evangelicals for Trump. Turn the other cheek and love your neighbor. Do this and you have loved God!
You could argue progressives want to replace fundamentalist Christianity with progressive Christianity.
Are we as progressives wrong? As progressives it is difficult to not interject our Christian worldview against the Christian worldview in the White House. Jesus was a socialist, Jesus was a conservative, Jesus was this or that. Jesus seemed to do his best to stay out of political life. He could have been made king, led an invasion against Rome; even call down angels against those that sought to persecute him. Jesus did none of those things. Rather, Jesus taught his disciples to love God and neighbor. This type of leadership transcends given authority by birth, force or election. It is a leadership of example and choice.
Church and State
Progressives make valid points in which I agree. We as a people should start treating people with dignity and respect. We should care for the immigrant, feed the poor, provide affordable healthcare and do our best to give each person the right to execute their own free will. A government free from as much corruption as possible and listens to the needs of all people. A government that reasons together instead of fighting each other. The founding fathers were not perfect, and I do not hold the constitution as written by God’s hand. However, I do believe they were correct separating church and state.
Regardless if you are a religious person or not there are central moral doctrines most would agree. Do not kill or steal; most laws draw from these internal doctrines written on our hearts. We are smart people and can handle it, although I do not think that we have been handling the separation of church and state very well. Progressives are angry that fundamentalist are influencing the president and the Republican party. You could argue progressives want to replace fundamentalist Christianity with progressive Christianity. Both are wrong. We are wrong. Religion, any religion has no place in United States government.
If we are Wrong, What Now?
So, what now? Do we stop trying to correct the flaws of fundamentalism and the flagrant invasion of this form of Christianity in politics? Or, do we do what Jesus did? Jesus stayed out of the political scene. The Apostles stayed out of the political scene. When did things get bad for the people on earth regarding Christianity and government? When Constantine took Christianity and made it one of the state religions giving political power to the church. We all know how that worked out. I encourage my fellow progressives to stop trying to use our faith to fight the politics of the current administration, rather use our progressive values to live out Christ. Example is our power. Our salvation does not come from government. Our salvation comes from the Lord.
There is a cloud over the eyes of Christians. This cloud blinds the eyes of humanities search for God.
The death of Christianity is upon us and only Christians are to blame. For years the Evangelical Christian church has taught fire and brimstone, sinners and saints, numerous rules, dogma and doctrine. Children who grow up in this environment are sick of it. Those who are not leaving are changing denominations, while those who stay become like their agents of hate parents. There is a cloud over the eyes of Christians. This cloud blinds the eyes of humanities search for God.
Karl Von Eckartshausen, wrote the book; The Cloud Upon The sanctuary (1909). The text was very influential to societies who wished to make contact with the divine not through traditional means but that of the occult. Only those within the occult would be able to appreciate the mystery which the average Evangelical would not comprehend and probably label demonic. People want to be as free from suffering as possible. The church encourages suffering through its endless culture wars against people different from themselves. The endless dogma and doctrine of biblical literalists leaves the church goer in constant fear of God and hell. Jesus talked of a light burden; Evangelicals place heavy burdens on their adherents as the Pharisees in the days of Jesus.
Blinded by a Great Cloud.
We just do not understand this life. Some would say the purpose of life is to know God. This process it is not an automatic ask Jesus into your heart and done. It does not work that way. We must question, seek and be brave. There is a very real cloud that separates us from the divine. The transfiguration of Christ is a great example of our modern church. Peter, James and John represent the church as they stood in confusion. They spoke of what they do not know. A voice through a descending cloud spoke of Jesus “listen to Him.” Are we listening? No.
Live free of material gain and the fear of lack of. This causes some of the greatest suffering. However I find it unique that the Evangelical church is so wrapped up in money. I have never been to a service that the plate is not passed or money spoken of. Although Jesus himself talked more about money than heaven or hell his speech was not to gain, but to warn. Jesus understood the overwhelming sufferings money has caused the world. I believe Jesus was hoping we would listen to his words.
Do Not Fear Death.
Fear of death also has caused great suffering within the Evangelical church. No one wants to hear that they are going to hell when we do not even know if hell exists. Most scholars believe when Jesus spoke of hell he was speaking in hyperbole. Yes, it gets the point across and that can be ok at times. Don’t steal or kill or you will go to prison. I get it. Yet we are talking about long term mental devastation upon young people that have had enough. To hell with your hell, maybe the only hell that many Evangelicals lived through was within their church. Can you blame them for leaving?
If the Evangelical church has any hope it must restructure from the ground up. Rid itself of dogmas and doctrine from a time past. Rid it of its literalists views. The racist, anti LGBT, anti-immigrant, pro borders and gun beliefs which are rife within Evangelical walls must be dismantled. Love is the only law. This is the only doctrine that matters. There is hope for the Evangelical church as the word itself means good news. To save Evangelicals from radicals Sometimes it must die before it thrives.
People throughout history have also used religions to define their purpose. Trapped on this planet in the middle of space, early man developed religion as a panacea of sorts to explain why we are here. If God or Gods have contacted humanity it was still mankind who developed the system of worship around the Gods. Within Christianity, the Biblical text spells out how the religion was formed. Jesus did not form the church. Jesus did tell his followers to go about and spread the good news. However, this good news of love and peace has become a heavy burden to the majority of Christianity.
Religion is not Complex Enough for Humanity.
Is religion worth it? No, I would say it is not. It is within human nature to seek for the divine, but to formulate religions on dogmas and doctrines in which we think we know the will of God has caused nothing but harm. To have faith in God and a spiritual practice is not the same as an organized religion. Spirituality is following ones will. Ones will is their purpose and we are all spiritual. One’s path is not the same as another as each path is as unique as a fingerprint. To develop a system focusing on the human and his or her purpose in life is leaving humans wanting as no system is great enough to handle the unique nature of man.
Do Not Give Up on Your Faith.
If you agree but still love your faith good. I would never want someone to disown their faith, rather I would say let us build upon our spiritual nature within the framework of our faith, adding modifications when needed. Live by love, do no harm, seek peace and care for one another. Know that everyone is different and that is ok, that is how God made them. Understand that variety is the spice of life and you do not know the answers. Love, and be love, that is the only way.
To think Jesus had no knowledge of cannabis would be foolish.
Every time I take a hit Jesus smokes weed with me. I am the body of Christ. When I smoke, Jesus smokes weed with me. Legal cannabis has been sweeping across the nation for the past several years. On Jan 1st 2020 Illinois became the 11th state to legalize recreational cannabis. Truth be told, the lies and deceit our government has placed upon the plant is backfiring as states begin to realize that the people want what is rightfully theirs. That is the freedom to consume this gift from God. But, what does the Christian church think about legitimizing cannabis? Many Christians may be asking themselves would Jesus smoke weed with me.
Plant based drugs are nothing new to humanity. We can find their use going back thousands of years. To think Jesus had no knowledge of cannabis would be foolish. The man who turned water to wine would be familiar with the herb. But did he partake? We just don’t know. I would not think he would turn down the weed based on his teachings. Love, peace, fun social gatherings and cool miracles; in fact it is even suggested that cannabis was used in Jewish anointing oil.
Add Cannabis to Your Spiritual Toolbox.
While some church leaders’ feel that cannabis is much more mind altering than alcohol, this is nothing further from the truth. Cannabis is a nice tool in the spiritual toolbox. I have smoked cannabis and had my mind open to new ideas and ways to better my life. I have experienced love and kindness towards my fellows that I would not experience without cannabis. Alcohol never gave me the sense of self that cannabis delivers.
Finally we must look at the very blatant elephant in the room. If we as Christians believe that God created all things, he created cannabis. If God is all knowing he obviously knew that the plant would give humans a positive mind altering effect along with potentially endless medicinal properties. The time has come to have the faith to believe if Jesus was here right now he would be more than happy to smoke the weed with me.
Let us forget everything that we think we know about Christianity. In fact, let us forget Christianity. Let us only explore the possibility of working with Jesus.
Many of you may work with spirit guides, angels and other entities. Because of the bad name in in which Christianity has received working with the deity Jesus is often ignored. Let’s just say a great number of people are greatly misunderstood; and rightly so, about Christianity. Jesus did not start a religion; man did. It is man that has ruined working with the most loving deity in existence. Let me ask you to take another look at Jesus . walk through the most profound initiation experiences of your life.
Jesus is here for you. His sole purpose of his incarnation is to make himself known in physical form to better relate to humanity. In reciprocal manner humanity is then better equipped to communicate with the divine. Jesus said of humanity, “That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” (John 12:21, NIV). Jesus prayed for you to pray with him. Jesus desired for you to work with him. Let us forget everything that we think we know about Christianity. In fact, let us forget Christianity. Let us only explore the possibility of working with Jesus.
Jesus is more than a spirit guide although one could view him in a similar light. Spirit guides cannot someone legions of angels, cast out demons and heal the sick. “Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than 12 legions of angels?” (Matthew 26:53, NIV). “The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into a heard of pigs.” (Matthew 8:31, NIV). “She said to herself, “If only I touch his cloak, I will be healed.” (Matthew 9:21, NIV). These above verses are just a few examples of the workings of Jesus in which he performed while walking in the flesh. These and more are found in the New Testament text. So, what about you? What can I do with this?
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:12-14, NIV).
The above scripture is the key words needed to build your faith. Of course, working with Jesus means accepting him. Working with Jesus will probably not make you rich and allow you to summon angels and command demons for fun. Working with Jesus is taking on the authority of Jesus and through faith taking upon his essence. This is not for the weak. In fact, I must warn you this path leads to death. Death is a scary thing as we generally do not remember our past lives. Jesus took this initiatory walk himself leading him to death on the cross then through the power of the Father was brought back to life. This is a common theme in most mystery schools. Death and rebirth are apart of life, it is apart of our eternal life. If you choose you can walk the path of Jesus in order to help humanity and yourself at the same time.
Let us remember not to think of church in the traditional sense. Instead let us think of the world as church and every human being as its members. To begin working with Jesus we must believe. This is the same process when working with any spirits, angels or entities. You must believe to receive. You communicate with the Father as Jesus did. You may also think of the Father as the Universal Great Spirit. It is easy to understand how a religion is built up around Jesus. But do not bother with that.
Jesus went through three degrees of initiation much like Freemasonry and other mystery schools. His first grade was his baptism by his initiator John the Baptist. Jesus was submerged in water and then submerged in the Spirit. His second initiation was the 40 days of meditation and temptation in the wilderness. Through this grade Jesus was able to control his ego and become what many would term in the magickal world an adept. Jesus then as an adept performed his work as described in the 4 New Testament Gospels. The third and last grade was the most difficult and one that most of us will take many lifetimes to achieve. Jesus crossed the abyss. Jesus was crucified, buried and after 3 days was risen. This act is emulated in many mystery schools. Through his resurrection Jesus became a magus and upon his ascension an Ipsissimus. This is the grade that is beyond our human comprehension. Jesus being both fully man and God was able to rise through the grades in 3 years. A normal spirit such as ours would take thousands of years if not eternity.
There are many paths in which humanity has worked with Jesus. A working in which mortal man becomes godlike taking on the abilities of the deity. What is known as the Christian church was once apart of the mystery schools which would lead humanity to advance spiritually. Unfortunately, the earliest of Christians known as the Gnostics were condemned by less spiritual but instead power-hungry men. During the middle ages enlightened priest and monks wrote grimoires and taught the secrets of the Gnostics risking their lives to spread the true gospel. Freemasonry was formed, Rosicrucianism and the Golden Dawn. Today there are magickal orders such as Ordo Templi Orientis and the A.*.A.*. Of course there are many others, many have find their own path guided by Jesus to reach great heights of spirituality. One could take a book such as the Bible and through prayer, meditation, faith and good works do as Jesus did. To become God. To be one in the Father. This is not taught in your orthodox churches. Todays churches and governments only want this ability to work with Jesus for themselves. Of course, they are not really working with Jesus. Rather using the principals without the good works. They are antichrist.
You however can now take the first steps towards working with Jesus. Call upon his name. Pray, medicate and seek a teacher. Read as much scripture as possible. Not just the Bible but teachings written by great sages throughout human history. The writings of Aleister Crowley is a good start. Remember do not rush anything. Love your neighbor as yourself. Everything after that will come to those who wait.
Evangelicals have been separating the sheep from the goats for years. If you do not fall in line with certain biblical principles you will not fit in.
Saving Evangelicalism From Radicals is the mission of Evangelical Deep State. Just about anyone within the protestant traditions can claim Evangelical status. The only real requirement is to believe in Jesus Christ through faith alone. The term Evangelicalism comes from the Greek word for gospel. The word is fitting then to be an umbrella term for diverse Christian populations of similar mind.
Let me state first that Christianity has had many issues; all religions do. The problem Evangelicalism has had for hundreds of years is an “us vs. them” mentality Unlike Roman Catholics in which the Pope is the ultimate authority on scripture, evangelicals take their lead from a variety of chosen leaders which often present different beliefs.
Evangelicals have been separating the sheep from the goats for years. If you do not fall in line with certain biblical principles you will not fit in. I had an argument with an evangelical who believed unless you were baptized in water God could not let you enter heaven. There is only so much you can say in a case like that. I do understand if God truly acted in such a manner than God would not be a God rather a creation of our imagination. Kind of like a biblical Nightmare on Elm Street. Many within the Evangelical community are probably mentally ill. Fear, depression, suicide, living a fake life are just some detriments of the “faith.” Evangelicals act in the same way as modern day Pharisees.
Jesus spoke of them; “They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.” (Matthew 23:4, NIV).
What is the Point of the Deep State?
What is the point of the Evangelical Deep State? Saving evangelicalism From radicals, of course! I grew up in what would be called a classical evangelical community. I went to an evangelical college and seminary in preparation to become a pastor. Through my experiences I came to positions that went in direct opposition to mainstream Evangelicalism. The more I examined the issue it seemed as if mainstream Evangelicalism was the cause for all sorts of divisions largely based on exegesis, tradition and beliefs of key leaders. I came to the same conclusion as Jesus. Saving Evangelicalism from radicals is crucial.
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:36-40, NIV).
I have compiled a short list of divisive positions of most mainstream Evangelicals. Biblical inerrancy, acceptance of the LGBTQ+ as members and ordained leaders, women’s rights, a literal hell, racism, immigration and probably one of the biggest issues as of right now, the Evangelical takeover of politics. There was a reason the founders of the United States believed that the church has no place in the governing of the nation. The various divisive topics mentioned above are an example. We the people are not a church. We are a nation which contains churches who can freely worship as they will. The Evangelical Deep State is very concerned about the mingling of politics and religion
There is Hope
There is hope! A hope in Jesus, and a hope in the people we love. We are all created in the image of God. Evangelicals have been treating God badly for a long time. We the Evangelical Deep State desires to infiltrate the church with knowledge. Our mission is to love, leading a generation of Evangelicals from politics and division to peace and unity. You are not alone. There are thousands of us and growing daily who have left the traditional church out of disdain for their ungodly actions. This humble page is just one spear in a powerful movement to free Evangelicalism from its corrupt actions and rise up passionate followers of Christ without the burdens of doctrine and dogma. In the good fight in saving Evangelicalism from radicals.
